[ there are moments when thea still hates it all. her brother is back and still alive and that's great except he's still not her brother, and she's lost another father figure in walter, her mother's stopped talking again — she hates it and her coping mechanisms have never been the healthiest. at least by now she knows to stay away from drugs, but that doesn't mean she can't go to the club and lose herself in the music and alcohol and the sway of bodies.
except the bouncer (new, cute in a really, really hot kind of way) asks her for id and that's unusual enough to jolt her out of her misery and make her laugh. doesn't he know who she is? apparently not, and maybe it's beause he'd made her laugh that first time that when she comes back to the club, it's not to drown out her sorrows, lose them in the mass of dancing people, but rather to poke fun at raleigh becket.
(she's aware of oliver's eyes on them when he's there, but it's not like he's always around and it's not like ollie's got any room to judge her for anything, hypocritical asshole that he is.)
raleigh tells her about his brother eventually and she leans her head on his shoulder then in silent support because she knows how much it hurts to lose your brother, the one person you'd looked up to and loved and who was always supposed to be there. so maybe they have more in common than she'd initially assumed. she wouldn't have said that she wanted this emotional connection with one of her brother's bouncers, but it's there and she doesn't want to stop talking to him.
wants, in fact, to do a lot more than talk to him because one of the first things she'd noticed about him was how attractive he was and, well, thea's never been the kind of girl not to act on that. he kisses her first, but the invitation to do it had been written in every line of her body and she opens up under him, kisses him back and then takes him home with her.
ollie had better not say a damn thing about this. she's allowed to do whatever she wants with whomever she wants. and right now, she wants to keep kissing him, the hint of stubble making her lips tingle, hands tangled in his shirt to pull him closer and on top of her. ]
[Honestly, Raleigh hopes that her brother never finds out about this because there are things that you tell your boss and the girl you hooked up with over the weekend is not one of them and especially since that girl is his boss's sister and Oliver Queen has that look of someone who could kill you with his bare hands. To be fair, Raleigh probably could hold his own against him but he's not really keen to find out.
He shifts when she tugs, settling his weight over her like she wants and he has to admit, this is pretty nice. He really didn't come to Starling City looking for anything except to forget that his brother was dead and that he feels like his world has fallen apart because of that and it was never like this when Mom died, what's wrong with him.
Something's seriously wrong with him if he's thinking about that while making out with a girl, get it together, Becket. He does pull back for a moment, but only so he can strip his shirt off and then he's diving back into her mouth.]
[ if ollie finds out about this and gives raleigh shit for making out with his little sister, thea will throw a fit because honestly, raleigh is more responsible than the guys that she usually hangs out with and ollie doesn't even have a leg to stand on there because it's not as though he hasn't done far worse and far wilder things in his time. he doesn't get to judge her for anything, the hypocritical ass.
and still she hopes that ollie won't find out, because she doesn't want to spend her time with raleigh thinking about her brother. she doesn't want raleigh thinking about her brother, or his own brother, either. that he strips off his shirt distracts her from any and all thoughts of oliver queen, though, and she runs her fingers over the skin he's just revealed, the kiss turning a little hungrier.
[If Oliver did found out and went overprotective on him, Raleigh would understand. He's got a little sister too and maybe they don't talk anymore because she doesn't want to hear it and Raleigh doesn't know how to reach her, but he'd still want to give any guy who dated her grief.
He's just getting comfortable on top of her again, letting more of his weight rest against her and letting her do whatever she wants with her hands and his torso when a door slams somewhere down the hall.]
[Because Raleigh has the maturity of a six year old sometimes. He shifts his weight so he's more off to the side than directly on top of her. He waits for a minute, doesn't hear anything before he says something else.]
[ she misses his weight on top of her almost immediately, but doesn't say anything. though she does poke him in the ribs because come on, really? that's mature, raleigh. thea is at least as mature. ]
aaah how beautiful
