[ That does earn him a slap, because Mako sure as hell hadn't been using him for anything; she'd kissed him because she wanted to, she wanted him to continue because in that moment, he'd come alive under her hands, he had been warmer, a shade more alive than this.

Right now, Mako doesn't know if the man she'd seen, the one who had held her and had been terribly, thoughtfully gentle, the one she knew she had a connection with had been a clever disguise. Can you even fake a connection?

Embarrassed and angry, she blurts out: ]
The last thing I wanted to do was use you. But the person that you are now is never going to understand that. [ Then, because Mako is vicious and is out to make him angry, she continues. ] Tell me, what will your brother say if he saw you today? Would he be proud to see that this is how you've carried on without him?
