[ Mako comes to him a third time, three days later, the bruises on her light skin faded, so did the pleasurable aches that she'd taken away from their previous heated encounter -- she comes to him because she knows now that he hadn't faked it, that their connection burned strong between them. It was all there in the way he moved with her, in the way she joined him and they came together as one, a seamless, perfect unit that could hold up against just about anything.

The memory of it burns in her mind the same way his kiss is branded against her lips, and from time to time, she hadn't been able to resist brushing her fingers over her mouth, where he'd kissed so bruisingly -- Raleigh is aggressive when pushed, and in him she'd seen his former self, the passion that had been buried so deep that she feared it had been extinguished forever.

But it hadn't, it won't, and they both know it. So she discovers his address and decides to come to him before he leaves his apartment for the evening -- Mako is pulling out the stops tonight, deliberately chooses to show up at his apartment instead of waiting for him because this adds to the intimacy, forges a stronger bond.

Hookers don't bring their johns to where they live, and Mako is exceptionally clear on the fact that she's not like all those other women he fucks for ration cards, or cash, or a combination of the two. She's never going to be one of them, and this is the message she sends when she knocks on his door.

Third time's the charm, right? Third time; she will not leave without him, and she knows exactly how to make him come with her, to render them inseparable, because see, now she knows how he feels for her. ]
